Zipaquirá has a charming charm for its streets that preserve a colonial architecture. It is a place where you can breathe an atmosphere of tranquility. Its people are very friendly and you can find very rich local food at a good price. 

How to get to Zipaquirá?

One option to get to Zipaquirá is a bus from the transport terminal in Bogotá. This trip takes about 1 hour and a half depending on the traffic. You can take a transmilenio to the portal del norte in Bogotá. The session is located where the intermunicipal buses to Zipaquirá are. These buses frequently run every 10 to 15 minutes and the journey takes 45 minutes depending on traffic.

Finally, if you want to live a more special experience, there is also the option of taking the train that leaves from the Sabana station. In this locomotive you will enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the surroundings of Bogotá, typical food and local music.

Salt Cathedral

Finally the cultural center Colegio Gabriel García Márquez, where he studied the Nobel Prize for Literature and still preserves the different spaces of that time.

Parque Jaime Duque

Finally this park is actually in the neighbouring municipality of Tocancipá, but it is only 15 minutes away from Zipaquirá. It is ideal to share with the family, it has many attractions that include the replica of the Taj Mahal, the 7 wonders of the ancient world, the biopark, among others.
