Itinerary to enjoy Santa Marta in 4 days. Santa Marta has many beautiful places to visit. You can come to the city for several days and you will always have something to do. But if you have few days in this itinerary we recommend a couple of very representative places of the city.
Day 1:
This day you can visit the historic center and the main attractions within the city. Some places to visit are the Cathedral, walk through the streets with colonial architecture and the boardwalk of the bay. We also recommend visiting the gold museum and the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino.

Day 2:
A place you cannot miss is Cabo San Juan in the Tayrona Park. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Santa Marta, and I dare say in all of Colombia. In addition to the beautiful blue sea, this place is surrounded by mountains, animals of the region and vegetation. To get to Cabo San Juan you must hike for about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Along the way you will fall in love with the beautiful scenery.
If you do not like walking, another option in Tayrona Park is Playa Cristal. As its name suggests, it is a beach with a beautiful crystalline color and white sand. It is perfect if you want to go snorkeling and spend a nice day. To get to this beach you first arrive by car to Neguanje and then take a boat.

Day 3:
Santa Marta is not only beaches, we also have the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. And one of the best known places is Minca, the so-called Ecological Capital of Colombia. In Minca there are waterfalls and natural pools. There are also coffee farms, to taste and learn more about the typical Colombian coffee. You can also go on ecological hikes and totally disconnect from the noise of the city.
Day 4:
Depending on your departure time from the city. If you only have a few hours in the morning, we have a very interesting tour for the whole family. A Pirate Boat tour around the city’s bay. It is a fun adventure to learn about the forts and pirate attacks that took place in the city. This will be 1 hour of fun and learning. Book this experience here.
If you leave the city at night and want to enjoy the beach again, you can visit Taganga and Playa Grande. Taganga is a small fishing village, just 10 minutes from downtown with a very particular style. This place between the mountains and the sea is ideal to enjoy a day of relaxation. In Playa Grande you can dive and snorkel and enjoy the delicious local gastronomy. This tour can be until approximately 4:00 pm.
Don’t forget to go to the Parque de los Novios in the evenings. There are many options of restaurants and discotheques to spend a nice time.
