Day

The tour starts at the Magic Tour Colombia offices in the Historic Center of Santa Marta. Once we are all gathered, we will start this historical route at the Cathedral Square, which houses the first cathedral built in South America, which holds important historical relics, representing the influence of the colonial era in Santa Marta.

Then, we will go to San Francisco Square, where we will talk about the importance of its colonial architecture and the past of the Franciscan church and convent, one of the first religious buildings in the city. We will then move on to Simon Bolivar Park, one of the most emblematic sites in Santa Marta, which has witnessed historical events and offers a privileged view of the bay.

We will continue to the Tayrona Gold Museum, where we will discover the cultural richness of the indigenous peoples who inhabited this region. We will continue our tour entering the Callejón del Correo, a picturesque passage that evokes the charm of the colonial city and keeps stories of its commercial past. From there, we will head to the Parque de los Novios, famous for its bohemian and vibrant atmosphere, ideal for getting to know the social life of the city.

The next destination will be the Antiguo Hospital San Juan de Dios, a building full of architectural and health history, which has been fundamental in the health of the region. Finally, we will arrive at the Casa Marina, a jewel of republican architecture that shows the splendor of the time when Santa Marta was a booming commercial center. Here, we will also live a unique experience: a coffee tasting of varieties of coffee from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. We will begin with a welcome to the participants by our barista and then we will head to the coffee laboratory, where we will receive an explanation of the tasting process. During the experience, we will taste four varieties of coffee -Caturra, Castillo, Amarillo and Colombia.

Each of these places will not only tell us a part of history, but will also allow us to imagine what life was like in the city in times gone by. At the end of the tour, we will conclude this enriching cultural and sensory experience in the heart of Santa Marta.
