Day
We will start the adventure by picking up the participants at their lodging place. Then, we will be transferred to kilometer 35 of the Troncal del Caribe, where we will enter the fascinating Macondo Labyrinth, the first natural labyrinth in Colombia, with more than 4,000 square meters of extension.
Once inside, we will explore six unique stations. The first station is the Atarraya Pescadores, an elevated net created by the fishermen of Taganga, perfect for taking incredible photos. Our second stop is the majestic Macondo Tree, a native and endangered tree that gave birth to the name “Macondo”. The third stop is the Aracataca House, built with doors, windows and furniture brought from the place where Macondo is believed to have been born. The fourth stop is the Galeón Encallado, a fishing boat from the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta that will transport you to the largest lagoon complex in the country. The fifth stop is the Mirador Sierra Nevada, where you will enjoy spectacular views of the Caribbean from the highest point of the labyrinth. Finally, we will visit the Kogui House, where we will learn in detail the construction techniques and elements of an authentic Kogui house handmade by the community’s own inhabitants.
After exploring these stations, we will enjoy a delicious lunch with local flavors. Afterwards, we will head to the Don Diego parking lot. Upon arrival, we will navigate to the highest point to begin an exciting and relaxing buoy ride of approximately 40 minutes to the mouth of the river where you will enjoy the unique experience of being surrounded by two bodies of water in one place.
Finally, we will be transferred by boat to our departure point, to go to the vehicle and return to Santa Marta after a day full of excitement, discoveries and adventures.
