Day
- Our tour begins with a visit to Las Bóvedas, ancient structures that used to serve as storage and now house craft and souvenir shops. From here, we will venture into the old walled city, a true colonial treasure where every street tells a story and every balcony has its unique charm.
- We will continue our experience in the tunnels of San Felipe Fortress. These tunnels offer a fascinating glimpse into past military engineering as we explore their underground passages and learn about Cartagena’s strategic defense.
- After exploring the fortress, we will head to the Casa de San Pedro Claver. Here we can immerse ourselves in the life and work of this Jesuit saint, known for his dedication to African slaves during the colonial era. The museum and church bear witness to his legacy and the religious history of Cartagena.
- Next, we will take a leisurely stroll through the main squares and streets of the old city. From Plaza de Bolívar to Plaza de los Coches, each space is steeped in local culture and offers the opportunity to observe daily life and the colonial architecture that defines Cartagena.
- To conclude our day, we will ascend to Cerro de la Popa. From this viewpoint, we will enjoy a panoramic view of Cartagena and its coast. The convent at the top of the hill will provide us with a moment of peace and serenity, perfect for reflecting on the rich history and beauty of this city.
