For breakfast and dinner, I recommend going to the Getsemani´s principal square called Trinidad. Here you will not only enjoy cheap food but street art, beautiful facades and the magic of the oldest Cartagena’s neighborhood.
What to do in Cartagena, Colombia?
Go for a walk through Ciudad Amurallada, let yourself go by your feet, watch the panoramic views from the historic walls, count how many squares you find and prepare your camera to shoot the colorful facades and the unique architecture.
At night, bicycle renting is a good plan. One hour from $5 USD. After dinner, you can enjoy a fresh drink in some of the squares located in the downtown.
Another option is going to rumba or dancing. You will find parties of different environments and kind of music. Beers since $2 USD and $4 USD.
Enjoy a full day in Barú island!
In the morning, if you go to the Clock Tower, you will find full day tours to Barú Island. Prices from $15 USD the round trip and lunch included.
I recommend staying at least one night in the island, there you will sleep in front of the sea. There are hostels from $20 USD and the unmissable plan is the plankton tour all nights at 19.00 h.
You could appreciate a beautiful natural phenomenon where the sea water shines at night. It is important to negotiate with natives a good price for the tour. Also you can take the tour with a tour operator here.
Let’s see the rest of the island close to Cartagena, Colombia
In the Bodeguita dock located near to the Clock Tower, you will find different boats offering full day tour to the islands around Cartagena. Prices from $30 USD. Other places to see at low cost…
The famous Castillo de San Felipe and the Zapatos Viejos monument, two fascinating and historical places.
